Who is this degree for?
The online Master of Science in Applied Psychology (MSAP) program does not prepare graduates for independent professional licensure as a marriage and family therapist or as a professional counselor. The program is designed for:
- Individuals seeking to expand their knowledge of issues in applied psychology.
- Individuals seeking clinical practice and who already hold professional licensure.
- Individuals planning to work outside the United States or in countries that do not regulate or have professional licensure or governmental certification in counseling or marriage and family therapy.
- Individuals who are exempt from licensure requirements (e.g., clergy), and who wish to gain knowledge and skills to better support and help families.
- Paraprofessionals who plan to work in a non-therapeutic role under professional supervision.

Tuition
Graduate tuition is $429 per credit hour. There is a $75 technology fee each semester.
The University of West Alabama is dedicated to keeping education costs affordable and providing students with a full range of grants, scholarships and loans.
