Alabama is currently facing a shortage of special education teachers. With the online Temporary Special Education Certificate approach at the University of West Alabama, you can respond to this call and gain the skills required to teach collaborative special education in just one year.

The requirements for this approach include completing five courses and securing employment as a collaborative special education teacher at the 6 – 12th grade level for a minimum of one year. This allows you to complete the requirements for a Class B certificate and prepare for the Special Education: Core Knowledge & Applications Praxis exam while gaining hands-on experience working with special education students. Tuition

Tuition for the online Temporary Special Education Certificate program is $325 per credit hour. There is a $60 technology fee each semester.
