Program Completion Requirements
The educator candidate shall:
- Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or better in all courses in the approved program as verified on an official transcript with no grade below ‘C.’
- Make a satisfactory score on a written comprehensive examination documenting mastery of the curriculum of the program.
- Demonstrate leadership ability in his or her area of specialization.
- Hold a valid Class A Professional Educator Certificate in School Counseling.
Admissions
The educator candidate shall:
- Meet all requirements for admission to the School of Graduate Studies.
- Provide verification of background clearance/fingerprints.
- Hold a valid master’s-level certification in School Counseling.
- Have a minimum of two (2) full years of full-time acceptable experience.

Tuition
Graduate tuition is $429 per credit hour. There is a $60 technology fee each semester.
The University of West Alabama is dedicated to keeping education costs affordable and providing students with a full range of grants, scholarships and loans.
