The University of West Alabama offers the Master of Science in Continuing Education in Counseling/Psychology and the Master of Education School Counseling completely online with Columbia Southern University as technical facilitator.  Current UWA students who desire to take selected courses online can do so, as long as they register and pay the appropriate fees.  

Most of the core Graduate Education courses in the Teacher Certification Masters program are offered online through this program.  Students who desire to take these two programs completely online must register through UWA.  This is a UWA program, with UWA professors, UWA accreditation and UWA policies.  All students must adhere to the policies and procedures of the UWA School of Graduate Studies.

All you need is a computer and an Internet service provider. You'll log into your online course site, retrieve lectures, questions and assignments from your instructor. You’ll review your course information and textbook offline at the times and places most convenient to you. You'll also have access to UWA’s online research libraries and services, as well as other successful professionals with whom you can share ideas, debate issues and learn from each others' experience.

UWA online courses are offered in an accelerated 8 week format. Five session are offered each year. This format allows online students to complete their program at an accelerated pace.
